September 2009

Having had a bad few weeks I’ve had to cut back on the posting, the riding has suffered too so it makes sense to consolidate it all into a monthly post until things get back to normal.
Last weeks Aldi Cycling offers had me buying a pair of gloves as that was all that left. Nothing left in my size but I’m not sure that need anything.
Had a ride out in it the other day and it was just a tad too warm for it yet but it was only 2 winter layers.

Booked a spinning class at West Kirby with the receptionist asking where I had been. Likewise in the class.

Abbove is the 10th picture of the Etape that I’ve been trying to get for 2 months. In the background is the Simpson memorial. It’s surprisingly close to the finish.

  1. Hi Frank,

Well, sometimes “life happens…” and you have to take care of things.

Even though we enjoy your posts, the website should be the last thing on your mind. On the other hand, from my experience, a good ride helps clear your mind, allows you to get away, and returns you back refreshed. Keep on riding, besides being good for the body, it’s also good for the mind.

  2. 0.6 km,s I think. This was the easy bit if you,ve done 170 odd Km you don’t walk the final km.
It was explained to me that there are a lot of ghost riders with no numbers. The photographer,s make no money out of them.
A bit like clubruns. Why pay for what you do weekend in weekend out.
To be honest you haven’t a clue what is going on one your first Etape.
Looking back I was 6 minutes ahead of the Broom wagon at the start, but got an hour ahead of it.

I did wonder what the hell was going on at Challete Reynarnd, guys fighting for water while a few metres away it was a totally different scene.
The Simpson memorial has a life of it’s own. Those on the steps aren’t on the event but probably got caught unlucky if that’s how you view things.
