Next Wednesday is another big day for me.
First off its Jack the grandson,s first birthday so happy birthday Jack.
Secondly its my fourth followup class which means I’ve been 7 months on the course.
I’m on target for a figure of about 90Kg which is a total loss of 42 Kg. To put it into context a bag of cement or plaster is less than 25 Kg, just try lifting one at B&Q.
Thirdly I’ve had some Business Cards printed with the site address on them, the intention is to give them out to the class before mine as they leave. I’ve an ongoing problem with the site being seen as being endorsed by the NHS if they give a link out.
All I’m trying to do is help others that are in the same situation I was 7 months ago.
The site had 446 visitors with 1071 page views last month and 30% are repeat visitors. I’ve had 1 comment from a class member (Andy) and thats because I wrote the site address down on his course notes. Thanks Andy.
I can’t express to people how big the change had been as every aspect of your life is altered when you do something like the Lifestyle and Weight management course.
Update: There was a really good turn out from Andys class including Andy. We got introduced to Rons class that has been running for 4 weeks. I had the opportunity to give the cards out so If if you,ve got one and have got this far please leave a comment. I only post first names on the site so thats all you have to put in the box.
If any of you have any questions fire them at me, the weight diary is the same one that you have done each week. I was in the same situation as yourselves 6 months ago, the diet works the hard part is doing the exercise that you,ve (30 mins a day, remember)signed up for.
For the record my weight was 89.2 Kg which is 14.05 stone or 196.7 pounds.
More than one person has said to me that I’m wasting away, nothing could be further from the truth. I’ve gone down from a 46inch plus trouser size to 38 inches and it could soon be 36 inches, shirt size was 18 1/2 and is now 16. General clothing size was XXL is now L or in some cases M. I’ve had a couple of wardrobe changes as the 42 inch waist trousers no longer fit.
None of the clothes have been over £10 and the dearest shirt is a £6 Tesco,s one.
I spoke to Barbara after the Wednesday class at the Oval about this site and the Google ranking. Her main classes are at WestKirby Concourse and are as follows.

Wednesday 18.15 – 19.00
Location: West Kirby Concourse
Booking necessary 0151 929 7801 7 days in advance from 09.15
Invigor8 customers can book 8 days in advance. Revolutions is a static cycle based exercise class (previously known as spinning). It is a “high impact” session suitable for those who are used to regular moderate to intense exercise. Invigor8 customers can book 8 days in advance.
I haven’t tried West Kirby yet but I must remember to take a towel next time.
Monday: Followed up Eddies routine by managing 12 full pressups which is an increase of 2 on the previous day. To put it into context Eddie can do 40 no problem and he,s a good decade older than I am.
Session at the Oval after work had me burning 402 calories on the crosstrainer in 30 mins. 67 cals on the rowing machine and a set of weights with the weight and reps logged. Some results dropped due to the pressups earlier in the day.
Tuesday: Tina,s Spinning class at the Oval had me burning off 697 cals on the good old Crane Sports (Aldi)heart rate monitor. I checked on how I was doing at various times, the backlight giving off an earie glow (Tina,s classes are in the dark).Pulse was 142 bpm at one point, the highest I’ve seen is 155 bpm which was the week before. I’ve seen 166 bpm on it many moons ago when I was going up RestHill when I was carrying around another 6 stone around me.
Another set of weights with the weight and reps logged.
Wednesday:Winter trainer weather had me dropped off at the Eureka Cafe as I was running late, where it was out to Kinnerton for the Wednesday Section AGM. Gave the Aldi Winter bib tights a try out, an absolute steal at £8. AGM over it was back to the Eureka for a cup of tea then home through the Missing Link. (36 miles)
Managed to get in Barbara,s Spinning class at the Oval by being at reception at 6 o’clock. It turned out that the class was full but we all fitted in.
Guess who forgot his towel?
I took in some paper towel but things rapidly changed as the class started. I’ve mentioned before about men sweating and women perspiring well boy did I sweat tonight.
HRM reset it was soon ticking up the paper towel wouldn’t be used for moi but wiping the bike down after I’d finished.
For the record it was 670 calories burnt, 600ml of water drunk. I did see 162 BPM on the display which was surprising as I thought my max was 166 BPM. The machine and the floor got a wipe down as there was about 600ml of sweat over it. I spoke to Barbera about this site after the class and she told me about the classes she holds at West Kirby.
Barbera i’ll do a seperate post on the classes under the spinning category.
Thursday: Had cards printed but otherwise a rest day.
Friday: Rode to the Eureka Cafe for a breakfast, was just about to leave when Pinarello Kev comes in.He is my first card holder so gets a mention. Rode home with Kev discussing bikes, rides, Aldi clothing that I was trying out, Carbon fibre handlebars (25 miles)
Saturday: 13 full pressups just to prove I’m not imagining all of this. Saw Jack.
Went to Deeside Cycles to look at Colnago,s and HRM,s which deserves a post all of its own.
Sunday: Looks like it is out with the CTC to the Dragons Den.
